  • Leominster Hog is going to Wolf Hollow 5-26 & Mt Graylock 7-28.

To All:

I am presently working on the 2012 Ride list and would appreciate your input. I have received some suggestions and am looking for more.

Please send any  suggestion you may have that would help to make this a GREAT ride year.

I am looking for ride destination, types of ride IE: food, activity etc.
Which day of the weekend is better?
What is a good start time on a shorter ride?
Are you interested in after work rides on weekdays?
Would you want a ride that had no destination?

Thanks, Mark M Hynes HRC

Members Suggestions:

I would love to add the Brattleboro Retreat's Ride For Heroes to our 2012 ride list!

This will be the 3rd annual ride and I'm very proud to have so many of our Chapter members attend each year.

This years ride is on Saturday, August 18th and will be completely police escorted, including any intersection traffic control (blocking) that may be needed.

Sodexo, the food service people at the Retreat, have tweaked the menu so everyone will be served their lunch quickly when the ride returns to the Retreat grounds. (It's a learning process!) PULLED PORK has been added to the menu and the ice cream cooler will be filled with all sort of yummy treats as usual!

Thanks so much!
Ride safe and be well, Terry

Hello All, Doug here, "New Guy". I noticed on the list for last year two rides, one was the VT Route 100, which no matter the distance involved, is always a pretty ride. Also, I would like to get up to Maine at some point, so some place up North would be nice. As for suggestions to fun, food, adventure, I have ridden on many different types of rides (Poker, Funeral, Road Trips, local rides, cross country........). Being "new" to the group, I will try and keep my constructive comments to the events I attend and can give and validate any comments I may have. But, Thank You for asking for suggestions, and thanks to those who give them. The month's meeting was informative on my part, and I look forward to other meetings and input from other members.

Thanks, Doug

Good morning all, I too am new to the group and would like to throw a new possibility out there.

We are in the process of setting up an event for the 1st weekend in August at Shir-Roy campground in Richmond NH.
It is a benefit rally for DVAS which is Deaf Vermonters Advocate Services. Last year was their 1st run at it and it was held way up north in Alburg VT.
This year they are wanting to move it down this way to be more accessible to others from MA, CT, RI and NH.

At any rate this will be a pig roast, poker run, bike games and family camping weekend for those who choose to stay.

In addition we are hoping to have a tattoo artist, sewing person and a few other things. There will be a mixture of both deaf and hearing bikers as well as interpreters.
If anyone is interested I know they are having a meeting this coming Friday and I can keep everyone up to date on the progress of the event and hopefully I can finally get over to Marlborough one of these Sunday's and meet some of you.

Anyway, my .02

Hope to meet you all soon.

Rob Tarbox

A suggestion that I heard was a ride to the "Castle in the Clouds" which is located Moultonborough, NH ~ I'd love to go there.

I like Marty's idea of a weeknight ride (Friday would work great for me) but multiple nights could also be scheduled. It could be something simple like meet at the shop at "X" time and the group that shows up decides on how long of a ride to do. Another idea is that the meeting place varies - the first week week of the month the ride starts in Brattleboro, the second week it starts in Keene etc....

Another destination that was being kicked around was a place in New York that had a bunch of old trucks...JVC and Tim you guys know what I am referring to please help me with this!
